First Nations people of Australia are grossly over represented in the child protection and justice systems. This involvement perpetuates a cycle of inter generational grief, loss, trauma and disadvantage. True lived experience, culture, healing, self-determination and a deep community connection must be the heart and soul of all work with First Nations people and communities. Deadly connections positively disrupts intergenerational disadvantage, grief, loss and trauma by providing hoslistic, culturally responsive interventions and services to First Nations people and communities, particularly those who have been impacted by the child protection and/or justice systems.
This is a cause that’s very close to Kerim’s heart, as he can personally relate to indigenous communities. As soon as he heard about Deadly Connections, he knew he had to get involved. He resonated with Deadly Connection’s mission to help First Nations people find a job, build their career, and to grow their success. As an agency, we wanted to make sure that we could use our strongest capabilities to support Deadly Connection in the most impactful way possible. We decided to sponsor them by building their website and producing video content for them because we believe in their mission and wanted to help them spread their message as wide and far as possible.
